Simple Perfections I

The sweet cozy bed where I slept at Ian and Traudel's, with windows I kept open at night, and a view out to their garden. Bliss, bliss, bliss, bliss, bliss. Shabby Rose Chic, from the garden at Hilltop, home of Beatrix Potter. The grave of Little John (yes, of Robin Hood fame, the very same!) -- at Heathersage. His home was here, and his stompin' grounds ... the original headstone is to the left, there, the other is a much more legible marker. The cottage where he lived is no longer in existence, but evidently one used to be able to see that as well. Me and stone, it's a love thang! This was taken at Fawe Park, which is ON a lake and used to be the summer home for Beatrix Potter and her family during her childhood. It's currently occupied, and quite fenced off, but I was able to peep thru holes in the fence and take a few photos. I'm a paparazzi for stone, Baby! A Classic. Also an escapee -- was wandering with his Mama, outside the fence, in the car park where we parked to go to a surprise view ... after I'd taken this photo and put my camera away, this fella moseyed over to a nearby bench and discovered a bottle of beer on the ground, which he then proceeded to lick, nuzzle, suck and fondle with great gusto, while I struggled to untangle my camera strap to get THAT photo. Didn't happen. Eesh. Classic, Too. Photographed in Castleton. Chatsworth, viewed from one of the myriad garden paths.

I'm moving slowly, deliberately, with these posts. I learned from my trips to France and Italy that if I don't allow myself time to first review, assimilate, ponder, reflect, re-live, and then WRITE TO MYSELF, I lose much of what I felt and saw, thoughts, inspirations, etc. So if it takes me until my next trip to post what I want to share from this one, so be it. Patience, my lovelies, patience!
