Dad emailed me today, after a big thunder-&-lightning exchange then silence. I'm glad he did; me, I wasn't ready.

Cards
New (to me) stamp set I purchased from Veronica's ETSY shop - this card is for my family friend in England, who is on the mend!
This was an experiment in aging techniques. I prefer the envelope (ha!).

Rich, Wondrous Reading
My Lovely Mother gave me this book some time ago, and I've been slowly, slowly, slowly taking it in. It's a collection of travel essays, loosely put, but no, it goes very much more deeply than that. And outstanding writing. It's one of 'those' books that I dole out to myself because it's SO wonderful, I don't want to 'hoover' it and be without it!!
Here's what Amazon says: 'Greece, it has been said, is where art became inseparable from life. The country evokes a richly embroidered tapestry of images, from old monuments rife with history to idyllic isles of glass-blue sea and blinding white stucco dwellings. Greece enchants its visitors with its beauty, tradition, and spirit. In this eloquent collection, women share firsthand experiences of the people, history, and landscape of Greece. Their essays go beyond ordinary travelogue to capture the ways in which Greece has shaped lives or influenced decisions. In expressing their love for the country, these women share stories as visceral as they are poignant, as entertaining as they are endearing. Whether they are seasoned travelers or armchair adventurers, Greece aficionados or those just beginning to learn about the country, readers of this compelling collection will gain a better understanding of Greece and how experiences abroad can impact their lives.'

Duck Whisperer
This just in from my bro', Chris: "Look what flew into our yard today! Couple of very tame ducks. Ciera fed them bread for about 30 minutes, then they just hung out for awhile. They finally flew away when Prince (cat) showed up. There's one of those manmade lakes about a 1/2 mile from here; they must've come from there."
Uncle Cam added: "Whenever ducks swoop into our yard all the cats would run for their lives! It was funny to watch. Probably because the ducks are as big as they are. Only Prince goes right into predator mode and stalks them. Ciera is a true duck-whisperer. They were walking right up to her begging for bread. -Cam"

The Cascades
The Cascades - an apartment complex near my home, built in the late 40's or early 50's, style a la Art Deco Miami, and on Phoenix's list of historical buildings.

Faces of the World (Altered Book) - Rome

On the right is an image of a pasta maker rolling out gold necklaces -- Rome being known for pasta and gold, I loved the photo, but nobody seems to be 'getting' it!

My Lovely Mother, my brother Cameron, and I are now 'collecting' photographs of bicycles from everywhere we go, near or far. The little blue and white pieces on the left side came from a napkin I got at a cafe in Rome on our trip there.
