Acrylic Paint and Rubber Stamps Experiment

From an old Somerset Studio issue, the technique: take text pages out of old books. Paint one side in your choice of acrylic color(s). Let dry. Add rubber stamp images/patterns to taste. Then use papers however you wish. These kinds of experiments are so instructive when it comes to what colors work together. This one? not so much ... Gosh. I love these.

You know me, I'm all about the purple, but I absolutely agree with you, the other pages are my favorite, too, in this case!

I love these pages ~ I could write and write for hours on them. I just think the effects you get from the rubber stamps are delicious.

It's renewed my frustration that I can't seem to find such interesting stamps in UK. Boo hoo.

Hi Toni, they are just fabulous. I especially love the colors of all of them. I just got home so will have to catch up tomorrow when I am not so tired. I was away for 5 days and missed blogland.

Beautiful... that's the first word that comes to mind.
Hi... I don't think that I've been here before, though your title rings a bell.

I'll be back, when time allows.

best wishes Ribbon

These are wondrous. So creative! It reminds me of "found poetry." You rip the page out of any publication (with print in it) and then just start circling words and phrases, and then string them together until they make a poem. Sometimes they are so cogent, it's amazing. And lots of fun. Maybe I'll scan one into my blog so you can see.

Hi again Toni!
What a terrific technique! Love these backgrounds, especially the dark blue/black one and the bottom one with the image of the children. The page with the stamps of the woman's face and the sirop stamps, w/o out my glasses immediately brought to mind Marilyn Munroe and tombstones...a bit morbid, I know! Nevertheless, I love it!

Love the pages, good job, good idea. I need to get some rubber stamps.

Now, would you use the paper as wrapping paper? Small gifts....if not, what do you use it for? Just wondering....thanks,

HI Toni. I am definitely going to experiment this technique in my work. Recently, I was searching for some good quality rubber stamps, then a friend of mine suggested Acorn Sales (http://www.acornsales.com/) to me. I ordered the stamps and I must say, the quality is much better than what I had been using till now. I would recommend Acorn Sales to all those searching for good quality rubber stamps.
