Decision Made on Written Journal

Because I'm feeling so UNdecided about which way to go next with my journal, in the interim I chose just to go ahead and finish up the comp book that had been riding around in my purse since December 2007. I like the change from those HUGE pages to these much smaller, tighter pages ... and I'm determined to use a) my own photos, b) my wallpapers, and c) my collection of clip art and collage sheet images through the remainder of these pages. Stamp image from I Brake for Stamps. The paper scrap from Patty at The Tuscan Rose, in a swap. My Grandpa Andy used to be a Page Seed Corn Dealer -- I used to ride with him when he went to take his orders, visit his customers, check the crop. Very sentimental for me, this sheet. House post card from my collection. It's the Marsh-Christie house in Nevada City, California, but it reminds me so much of the house I grew up in, in Maryland. We had a 2-story brick house, painted white with black trim and shutters, and a side porch at the entry, like this one. Big trees in the back yard. Ours was not so elegant and large as this, no sweep of lawn, but it's the house I call 'home' in my brain, and it's the reason I responded to this postcard. The picture of the woman at the piano represents My Lovely Mother, who always played her piano, the piano that lived in the dining room at this house ... I used to sit with my cheek again the side, to feel the vibrations of the wood and the pedals, and just to soak in her playing. I still will sit in her living room in complete bliss while she practices or plays, and I LOVE to hear her sing. Oh man. Wallpaper from Patty at The Tuscan Rose. The rubber stamp is one from I Brake for Stamps, which I wanted to use on cards I make for Double BB (a Westerns fanatic!) ... but I had to try it out first. Hee!! Woman with Cat on her shoulder stamp from I Brake for Stamps -- of course it symbolizes Toni and Zoe ... the Studio Duo. My photo of our hotel bed, when My Lovely Mother and I stayed in Glendale during the visit of my Nebraska kinfolk. New 'cockatoo' stamp from I Brake for Stamps. I used to have a cockatiel named Tess and I MISS that singing, let-me-shower-with-you-PLEASE little white ball of feathers and voice.

Okay, so the creepy connections between us grow even more. I grew up in Baltimore...where in MD did you reside? My albino Cockatiel was Angel and I had her 11 years. I miss her very much. Her soft little, "Twirlle," of greeting was so sweet. Toni, Toni, Toni...

What a great idea. I love tucking various things (along with writing) in my journals.
