I Want My Mommy!

I've gone from a full blown cough/cold to one helluva in-my-chest-&-throat cough and sore throat with sinus issues to boot. I WANT MY MOMMY!!! I stayed home today (I HATE missing work) ... slept until 10, took a bath to calm my shivery self, then came back to the studio to stare at my laptop and drink tea. Below are the written journal backgrounds I managed to accomplish yesterday. I'm going to go heat up some chicken noodle soup then go back to bed after I eat. I used a paper doily for the cool patterned background-worked just as well as the plastic doilies Kelly had at the workshop. The truck grill photo is my own, and that's the first of 2 decorative clear tapes I purchased at Frenzy Stamper. The paisley print fabric below came from New Jersey Chris, as did the gold lacy border beneath (hard to see). The henna'd hand images came from Kelly - she had several sheets of photocopied hands/feet/flowers in this style -- I got to keep one of them, as I left a ton of the collage stuff I brought with me in Kelly's bag! Nice swap. I want to find several images, now, and do photocopies at work. They lend a strong visual anchor to a page. The way Kelly uses hands on her pages thrills me, but I'd like to do the same sort of thing with birds or fish. Yes! That is the second of the two decorative clear tapes I purchased after the workshop. See what a cool page element it makes? And the architectural rubber stamp image, to the right. The blue woven pieces open for journaling beneath. The fabric strip on the larger piece is from Chris -- it has a subtle wheat pattern on it, reminds me of Nebraska prairies. Paper scraps, Tuscan Rose tags, new Lost/Found stamp image, the yellow floral piece to the left a reject from a homemade postcard project I did long ago. It flips open for journaling. 2 magazine images from a Vogue magazine article about interior design. Stenciling with white rubber stamp ink, painted over with a watercolor wash. Right side of the same page, just some scraps, a stamped image. I used one of my Glimmer Screens as the stencil here. Cut the hand out of some blotter paper from another purply project. The gold/lilac shimmering piece of fabric came from my blogging friend, Mercedes, in Madrid. I left some of my hand painted paper in exchange for this Paul Cezanne male nude drawing, which I found in Kelly's gynormous goody bag. New rubber stamps (fragments, evidence of observation, Fig.) from Stamp Francisco. I traded some of my ephemera for some of Kelly's, including this heart postcard. Gouache paint, Bombay Ink drizzles.

I'm sorry you're sick...me too.
I've been taking some walmart brand of mucinex, and all it does is make my nose extra runny. When i breathe, it sounds like I have asthma! Hope you get better soon! Your art is looking good as always!
